If we’re to think about it (but not too hard), the building blocks of romance have remained consistent throughout history: closeness, comfortability, sensibility, and adaptability generally the main reasons we get hearts in our eyes (again, please don’t overthink this). Together these qualities make up the True Measure of Romance, a scale upon which all things romantic can be judged—even their sustainability. Jack and Rose? They only get a 3/ 4 on the scale as neither were able to adapt and just make a little room for one another—and we know how that ended up.
